Submissions

We welcome submissions and suggestions for all parts of the magazine.

Please send hard copy to the address below. If your work is accepted we will contact you by email and ask for submission of a Word or .RTF file. Illustrations can be submitted as .jpegs or Fireworks file format. Other file formats may be accepted with the prior agreement of the editor or designer. Contracts, payment etc will be agreed at this stage.
Suggestions for reviews and the focus pages can be emailed directly to the editor.

Submitting hard copy

Please send A4, typed (Ariel or Times New Roman 12pt font in black), double spaced copy, printed on one side of the paper only and with a header on each page consisting of your surname, the title and page number. Please also enclose a cover sheet with your name, address, phone number and email address and do not fold the paper to post it. (Then it doesn't slither onto the floor as easily.)
If you would like the material returned, please enclose a SAE with adequate postage. If there is no SAE, material will be disposed of courtesy of West Sussex paper recycling scheme.

Self-published books and books from ‘vanity’ presses

We recognise that in the current publishing climate more writers are resorting to self-publishing, and that some excellent books have begun life this way. We will accept reviews of these books. However, due to the lack of editorial input prior to publication of the manuscript, all reviews of self-published books must be accompanied by a copy of the book, for assessment by a member of the editorial team. Please note that this may delay acceptance and publication of the review. Again, if adequate postage accompanies it the book it will be returned.
